Traditionally used for cooking and preserving meats in the days before refrigerators, this piece has a beautifully simple, rustic form with smooth hand-molded handles and a gorgeous, chocolate brown matt glaze. Likely manufactured in Digion valley at Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye, renowned for its stoneware.
