A gorgeous set of two pieces of French vintage faience; a delightful ironstone lidded soupiere/ tureen with its matching charger platter. Made with a ground colour of creamy earthenware with hand painted with birds and green blue and orange flowers with barbotine relief details and moulding. From Longchamp, France c1930
Priced and sold as a SET of 2 items - the soup tureen with its lid AND the matching charger platter.
SOUPIERE:
Bowl diameter: 25cm x 18.5 (at rim)
Height: 23 cm including lid (to rim of bowl only - 15cm)
Charger platter
35.5cm x 25cm x 3cm high
(All dimensions are approximate to the nearest cm)
CONDITION - In very good antique condition overall. The only defects are two small hairline cracks to the rim/edge of the soupiere, one of 6cm in length and another of 1cm. No movement at these cracks and the soupiere remains watertight on testing. The lid and the charger are in excellent condition with light crazing the only sign of their considerable age.
