A set of 8 beautiful Sarreguemines antique ironstone faience earthenware dessert / side / entree plates in navy blue transferware. Featuring a white ground, with sweet transfer printed design in navy blue of summer wildflowers, vignettes of Dutch-inspired landscapes, and butterflies. The set features two different designs and all are in excellent condition. Lovely pieces of very romantic antique faience ware by renowned makers Digoin Sarreguemines.

Priced and sold as a SET of 8 plates.

The late 1800s was an exciting time in design in Europe, and this design 'Wallace' unapologetically embraces the romance of the country cottage idyll that was so important in the Arts and Crafts / Aesthetic movement. This divergent design is different on each plate, all feature summer vignettes with butterflies fluttering around wildflowers. The gorgeous blue transferware is set off beautifully by the white ground for a crisp and elegant antique look.

20.8cm diameter x 1.5cm high.

In excellent antique condition, no chips or cracks, colour is bright and clear with no staining Very light crazing and some light scratches to their surface reflecting over a century of careful use.
