A shabby-but-gorgeous set of 6 French antique ironstone mismatched country style dinner plates, late 19th century dates from the period of the Aesthetic Movement. Featuring blue transferware in various floral and geometric patterns, these pieces have been made with a mix of intricate transferware designs. In popular patterns from well-respected French faience makers, including St Amand, Moulin Des Loups, Luneville, France.
Priced and sold as a mismatched SET of 6.
These pieces show many signs of their great age including chips and cracks, but with their pretty patterns, they remain sweet objects on display. While certainly past their best for food service, this set can have a new life as gorgeous display objects. Such a lovely way to add authentic French vintage charm to your kitchen decor - fabulous for a vintage plate wall or a china display for lovers of shabby interiors!
The diameter of these plates ranges between 22cm-25.5cm. The height of the plates is around 2.5cm.
Condition -
The plates are in shabby antique condition and are no longer suitable for food service - one plates with a 2cm chip to the underside, two plates with small chips to the upper rim and two plates with cracks which are penetrating from an impact. Many other signs of use such as scrapes / scratches, scuffs, some crazing / dulling of the glazes. Please see photographs for condition and feel free to ask any questions.
Shabby decor lovers will swoon, but the condition will not suit everyone - please check the photos carefully and feel free to ask any questions. I am more than happy to provide extra images and information if required. The price reflects the condition.
Despite these significant issues, this remains is a lovely set to display and enjoy - a fabulous addition to your vintage, French country or farmhouse interior!
