A SET of 4 vintage Johnson Brothers rose / floral pattern small plates. Lovely tiny Staffordshire pottery plates, in a classic all-over floral design, in a lovely colorway of pink over brown transferware with hints of green and blue.
These sweet plates evoke classic antique cottage style with floral sprays and stylised elements, in a beautiful polychrome palette in primarily pink,, brown and white with accents of blue, and green in a soft sepia / pastel-toned palette.
Sold as a SET of 4 plates.
Stamped for Johnson Brothers with a mark from the late 20th century, dishwasher and microwave safe markings. introduced in the late 1970s.
In excellent condition - few signs of use, some light scratches may be present or other small signs of wear. Glazes are in good condition with no crazing so plates are still very usable. No cracks or discoloration, lovely on display or use. Probably small saucers orginally, these cute dishes are pretty enough to be put to a variety of new uses - great as butter pats, sauce / dip bowls, or other small food service; or perhaps a pretty series of coin or small jewelry dishes.
