A lovely SET of 4 matching French antique lozenge shaped small serving dishes in classic white porcelain with gold trim border and fabulous antique lettering on the front in a brick red glaze. Lightly sculpted, fluted forms in a lozenge / diamond shape for a classic look, perfect for any table.
Late 19th - early 20th century dates, by the maker Alfred Hache et Cie of Vierzon, France (operating from 1845-1938). Each bearing an unusual letter or number decal on the front underside, printed in brick red under glaze, with three marked 'E' and one marked '3' - a fabulous small detail that elevates these pretty pieces. Unglazed biscuit finish on the underside.
Priced and sold as a SET of 4.
With their unusual red stamped letters, these small plates ('raviers' in French) give a lightly commercial look and may have been hotel, ship or restaurant wares. They would probably have been used to serve petit fours or small cakes, or for side dishes with dinner, but these classic pieces will lend themselves to many purposes - trinket dishes, rings / coins / keys dish, soap trays (etc, etc).
In very good vintage condition - no cracks or chips, no crazing, some signs of use and wear (small scratches, scuffs tof the gold trim). Color is consistent with very little patchy discoloration. Edges are a little worn in places but generally intact. Nothing to prevent continued use and all display very well. Please see photos for condition.

21cm long x 12cm wide x 3 cm high
