An elegant and rare set of French antique soup plates in the Cyclames pattern, a soft petrol blue transferware dating from the late 19th century (mark dated 1895-1913) from the renowned faienceries of Clairefontaine during the Leon Graves period. Classic Parisian style from the time of the Belle Epoque in a gorgeous floral transfer print featuring a dense border of floral sprays of naturalistic wildflowers and geometric elements, along with trellis, scrolls and acanthus leaf designs. A lovely and rare find to embellish your table!

Made in a soft petrol blue transferware, on a crisp white paste. The design is an intricate non-repeating pattern of floral sprays, each vignette featuring naturalistic flowers, beautifully detailed and shaded. Stylistically placed in the late Aesthetic Movement, while showing influences of early Art Nouveau motifs in the stylized designs and motifs.
All plates are in very good to excellent antique condition – No damage to note - colour remains crisp and clear for all pieces and suitable to use for serving. As these pieces are over 100 years old, you may see small signs of age, use and wear such as age appropriate crazing, a few tiny 'fleabite' chips glaze losses to the rim, small scrapes, scratches, small spots of discoloration and other small defects, all to be expected for an age over 100 years. Some blue spots and smears / smudges present also, as to be expected for manufacturing processes of the time - these are in no way faults, but arise from the more "hand made" processes in use at the time of manufacturing. Over all these pieces are in lovely condition for age, gorgeous on display and nothing to prevent continued use, as desired
