A gorgeous set of 9 French vintage ironstone dinner plates in red transferware on white, with a lovely floral Aesthetic Movement border pattern of vining sprays of blackberry blossoms and fruit in the 'Murier' pattern From St Amand France. An authentic French antique set c1896-1910, in excellent usable condition.
The price is for the SET of 9 plates.
This rare and beautiful model of plate is made in fine earthenware, known in France as terre de fer ("iron earth"), with an ivory white paste. The border decoration features a charming design which shows clear influences of the Art Nouveau movement with stylised flowers and a elegant vining patterns. A lovely classic design, in a beautiful palette of raspberry red transferware on a classic white ground.

Height: 2.5 cm
In very good to excellent antique condition - no chips or cracks, light signs of use including a few light scratches / scrapes. All over crazing as appropriate for age of 100+ years. Two plates have a few small age spots of rust-colored marks - please see photos for condition.
Marked on the base for St Amand, France with a mark in use between 1896-1952. Style and finish dates these to the late 19th / early 20th century.
