A lovely SET of 8 vintage Limoges porcelain cake / side plates mid 20th C from CF Haviland of Limoges France. Featuring a lovely soft palette of red, green and blue polychrome florals of tulips on a lovely white fish scale relief rim with a fine gold border, these plates remain in very good, fully usable condition. Perfect tea party china and great as a special gift!
Priced and sold as a SET of 8 plates.
A lovely form for these plates, with dainty size and relief molded rim and a beautiful design of non-repeating floral sprays arranged around the border and in the center of the piece. Hand coloured over a base of transfer print so each plate shows slight variations, very detailed and intricate drawings. Lovely subtle gold borders for a fine edge finish.
Bearing a red stamped mark for 'GDA Limoges' being Gerard, Dufraisseix & Abbot with a mark in use between 1900 - 1953. This factory is the later name for Haviland production, as after Charles Field Haviland retired in 1881, the company became known as Gerard, Dufraisseix and Morel using the white ware mark GDM, and, after the partners changed again around 1890, the company was subsequently called Gerard and Dufraisseix and eventually Gerard, Dufraisseix and Abbot (of our GDA mark). The Factory still operates today as Porcelaine GDA-Royal Limoges

CONDITION -
All plates in excellent vintage condition. Minor faults and signs of use such as minor wear to gold borders, light scratches, etc, with nothing to prevent display or continued use of these lovely plates.
A very pretty set of Limoges antique plates to use and enjoy - the excellent condition will make this a lovely set for a gift.
