A set of 8 lovely antique mismatched floral Victorian style side plates, from late 19th to early 20th century dates. All in good condition to use and enjoy, they would also be perfect for a china display or as a set of small vintage wall plates.
Featuring green and white colorways from French makers such as Saint Amand, Boch Freres, and various Staffordshire potteries in a variety of patterns, these pieces have been made with classic transferware techniques. Gorgeous tones of green make these pieces work beautifully together, while the diverse patterns add a touch of romantic whimsy - dreamy for vintage farmhouse or cottage interior style!
The diameter of these plates range between 21cm to 22.7cm. All 8 are in flat profiles for use as dessert / side plates.
All plates are in 'good' to 'excellent' vintage condition with no cracks or large chips. A few tiny fleabites here and there, signs of use and wear (scratches, scuffs) and some crazing and patination of the glazes. Colour remains clear and crisp for most pieces with very little staining, except all-over yellowing of the rose-border plate and a few rust spots in the bowl of the lily-of-the-valley floral piece. Despite these few marks f time, all plates remain lovely on display and suitable for use.
