A stunning set of 6 antique faience dinner plates c1900-1910 from K&G (Keller et Guerin) of Luneville, France. A lovely antique French plate set in Neoclassical style with a beautiful transferware design of wreaths, garlands and sunburst medallions in royal blue on a crisp white ground. Circa 1890-1910 from K&G (Keller et Guérin) of Luneville, France.
In the pattern name 'Bonaparte' this design emerged at the time of the 100 year anniversary of Napoleon's ascent to rule France. During this period, there was a renewed interest in his life and times, and a revival of the Neoclassical styles that epitomized his reign. In excellent condition, these plates remain very usable - perfect dinner party pieces or for the china cabinet!
Each plate is 23.75cm diameter 3cm high
Condition:
In very good to excellent antique condition throughout. No chips, cracks or significant scratches, light signs of use and some minor crazing, spots and smears of the transferware pattern, as usual for the more hand-made processes of the time. In truly fabulous condition for age, and ready to be put to use!
A superb set of plates to display, use and enjoy from a respected French maker.
