A shabby yet beautiful set of French antique plates in teal green transferware on an aged ivory ground c1880 made by the renowned faiencerie of Jules Vieillard of Bordeaux. An authentic set of age and beauty showing signs of their considerable age but still display wonderfully.
Featuring a formal pattern of aesthetic movement influence, this piece displays intricate repeating of foliate designs with running hares, along with a very pretty central motif. In a gorgeous and rare colourway of teal green transferware with a deep cream/ivory surface prettily showing the signs of their 140 year history.
Condition; The set is in shabby condition, a hairline crack to the small plate and one of the larger plates, each of the other large plates has small chips to the rim visible on the face of the item. Please see photos for details
