A set of 2 gorgeous French antique dinner plates in blue transferware on earthenware (ironstone) in a stunning and intricate floral design of wild flowers and blossoms from renowned Faiencerie de Gien, France c1880-1900. In shabby condition but still display beautifully.
Priced and sold as a SET of 2.
These beautiful plates are made in earthenware with a creamy white paste and blue transferware. A perfect French country design, in a classic blue and white colorway and romatic floral patterns.
Each piece features a beautiful naturalistic floral design of wildflowers, finished with a lovely romantic pattern around the border, of stylized individual blossoms. Gorgeous Aesthetic Movement design in romantic antique blue and ivory palette.
Diameter: 23.5 cm
Height: 3cm
Showing the passing of all their 120 + years of age, these plates are in shabby antique condition with a tea stain patina and many signs of use and wear. All plates have small areas of glaze loss, all over scratches and crazing of the glaze, some patchy discoloration, and a creamy tea stained appearance. These pieces are recommended for display only.
(OPTIONAL SECTION) In addition to the notes above, additional damage noted as follows:
Plate 1 - A fine hairline cracks of the rim, with discoloration and a rim chip of 2cm
Plate 2 - 2 Hairline craks to the rm with discoloration
Shabby decor lovers will swoon, but the condition will not suit everyone - please check the photos carefully and feel free to ask any questions. I am more than happy to provide extra images and information if required. The price reflects the condition.
