A delightful vintage hand painted dessert service comprising 9 side plates and one large cake / dessert platter in the 'Beausoleil' design from Sarreguemines, France dating to 1920-1950.
This service comprises 10 ironstone pieces all with radial fluting, glazed white and beautifully finished with hand-painted details of floral blooms in crimson, yellow and blue. A perfect set for a cheerful tea table or dessert service!
Side / Dessert plate dimensions - 20.5cm diameter x 2cm high
Cake platter - 30cm wide incl tray handles, 27.5cm diameter to fluted rim, height 3.5cm
Condition - In overall good condition with a few areas of minor damage. Three plates have faults - two with a series of chips to the underside of the outer rim (not visible from the service surface of the plates). One plate also has the same sort of chips, plus a 6cm crack visible from both sides (this example is included free with the set).
There is a slight colour variation between the white of one of the plates and the others in the set. Despite these flaws, the whole set remains usable and delightful on display. Please see photos for information, further photos can be provided on request.
The set would be prefect on display, for teatime, dinner parties or any gathering where cake or delicate fancies are involved!
