A beautiful set of French faience with this lovely tea, coffee or hot cholocate cup and saucer duo in a delightful hand colored cottage style floral Chinoiserie decoration from renowned faience manufacturer Sarreguemines, France in 'Pattern 822'. Fabulous maximalist style!
Dating from the late 19th century, during the raging Parisian fashion for Asian arts, the design is a charming willow variation featuring blossoming cherry trees, flowers and figures. Hand colored in a detailed, ornate design in vibrant colours over a transferware printed outline, and finished with brick-red borders.
Condition: In very good condition with no chips or cracks, possible to use, or for display as desired. Both cup and saucer show some small areas of wear to red borders on the rims, scratches and small signs of use. Please see photos for condition.

Stamped both on the base with different marks, but both for Sarreguemines, France and with marks predating 1895. The saucer bears the mark 'Decor 822', along with impressed production numbers.
