A sweet mismatched pair of French silver-plated oyster forks. Still very usable but with a well-worn patina, this shabby chic flatware is perfect for a vintage themed tete-a-tete, shabby chic vintage décor, or as a romantic French-themed gift for an oyster lover!
Priced and sold as a set of 2 pieces, each in a similar style but from different makers, likely from Parisian makers. One piece marked with Drouant, possibly taken at some point as a souvenir from that most famous Parisian restaurant. The other piece is very closely matching style but not exactly the same.
Lovely soft patina of wear in a simple and elegant design with central ridge on the handle and medium weight for a quality feel in the hand. Probably of the early Art Deco period c1920.
The fork forms are in good condition with no dents or misshapen elements. Lovely to hold and use, and still very serviceable and attractive.
Despite the wear of polishing over the years, and some spotty patination, the underlying base metal is not showing through the silver plate, signaling these have been very well-made items to survive so well over their long life. They bear wear and patination buy retain the finish intact. The scratches, wear and spots are permanent and the pieces will retain these signs of wear. Sent unpolished for the buyer to determine the eventual finish desired.
A gorgeous touch of authentic French design to enjoy and use for years to come with a lovely Parisian culinary connection!
Feel free to ask any questions :) I'm happy to combine shipping!
