A gorgeous pair of French tea or coffee cups in in a dainty standard tasse size in a classic red and white / ivory colourway. The two cups with matching saucers are from renowned faience manufacturer K & G (Keller and Guérin) Luneville, France and bear a mark in use from 1890 - 1920 these are lovely examples of early French Art Deco design. Lovely vintage cups and saucers.

This gorgeous set is a smallish tea / coffee cup (the standard French 'tasse a cafe' is 120mls) and features a beautiful sculpted fluting detail, sweet delicate handle and a classic understated design. A lovely and very unusual colourway with the white / ivory ground displaying a very slightly pearlescent finish which is not immediately obvious, but lends a richness and warmth to the surface. Finished with scarlet red hand painted border details, and showing Art Deco influences which would be right at home in a cottage-style kitchen or with any vintage decor.
This set is in satisfactory antique condition with no large chips, crazing or discoloration. A minor manufacturing flaw on each saucer, with a depression under the red border glaze on one saucer and under the rim of the other. Some tiny flea bites from the red borders. One handle has a fine crack, cleanly repaired (but may be an issue when the cup is full). Otherwise, light signs of wear and use, with nothing to detract from appearance on display or continued usability. Priced according to condition.

The glazes on these cups are still very usable without significant crazing. They will display very well and look great up on a shelf - fabulous additions to a vintage interior, or farmhouse kitchen décor.
