A stunning pair of large French antique canisters in classic Art Nouveau style. A very rare pattern in a grand size suitable for modern uses, this set is marked in French text for use for Riz (rice) and Vermicelle (noodles) - but of course use them for any storage needs! In very good condition and including lids, these pieces were made c1900-1905 in blue and white transferware faience (earthenware) by an unknown French maker.

With their large scale and srunning molded barbotine details, these antique French ceramic kitchen canisters will be a stunning and chic vintage addition to any kitchen, especially in the chateau style.
Featuring classic Art Nouveau transferware designs and a classic Parisian-style font. The colour is a beautiful deep blue on an crisp white ground.
DIMENSIONS Both pieces are equal size - 8.5 inches / 22cm high (including lid) x 5 inches / 14cm wide x 5 inches / 14cm deep. (All sizes at widest / tallest point, including lids)
Overall this set is excellent vintage condition. There is a small chip to the lid of one pot (see collage photo) and a shallow chip to the base of the rear of the 'Riz' pot. Otherwise, some crazing of the glaze as to be expected with the age of the set, minor signs of wear such as scratches, small scrapes and a few tiny flea bite glaze losses. You will see inclusions amd glaze spots under the glaze resulting from the more 'hand-made' processes of the time. No cracks or repairs. In fully usable condition and beautiful on display.
