A fabulous museum plate made by CF Haviland, Limoges, France for the Metropolitan Musuem of Art. This piece is a finely worked 20th C reproduction of a soft-past porcelain Chinoiserie plate, made in Mennecy, France around 1735.
Made by renowned French porcelain manufacturers Charles Field Haviland from Limoges, France. Stamped, with a full description on the back.
Featuring a fabulous design of the yellow tiger and a central figure under blossoming cherry branches and bamboo. Lovley molded form with variegated border pattern, almost a lily pad shape.
In excellent condition with no cracks, chips or crazing, no stains or discoloration (not even on the back!) Just a few tiny scratches here and there. This plate has not been used and has been kept for display. Presents almost as new, lovely to show in any setting.
22.5cm / 8.75" diameter x 3.5cm high.
This plate has been on display, rather than in use and remains in excellent condition for collectability.
