An elegant 59 piece French vintage blue and white dinner service with formal place settings for 12 (soup, side and dinner plates) or dinner setting for 24 (there are 24 dinner plates), plus a generous set of matching serving dishes. From Gien, France in an antique style pattern 'Rouen Bleu' featuring a rich blue transferware pattern of flowers, swags and medallions with subtle scalloped and fluted edges. Generously sized plates with and dishes in a gorgeous royal blue transferware glaze. This service was made between 1930 and 1950, and remains in excellent vintage condition - a very usable ornate antique style dinner service that also displays beautifully.
CONDITION - Overall, this set remains in excellent condition, some small signs of use, generally light crazing with very small areas of discoloration, still fully usable and will display well for years to come.
The set includes: x 24 Dinner plates (25.2 cm diameter height 2.5cm) x 12 soup plates (25.5cm diameter height 3cm). x 12 side / dessert plates (23.5cm diameter height 2.5cm) - all excellent x 1 Large Soupiere / tureen with lid (Diameter 25.5cm x H 16.5cm W 34cm with handles H 25.5cm incl. lid). x 1 large round deep serving dish (28.5 cm diameter height 4.5 cm) x 2 compotiers / cake stands (25 cm diameter height 7.5 cm) 2 shallow pumpkin seed sized chips to rim underside on one of the soupieres x 2 raviers (Length 27 cm width 13cm) x 1 saucier footed (Length 26.5cm x Width 21cm x Height 11cm) x 1 small oval platter (Length 35.5cm x Width 21cm) x 1 large oval platter ( Length 41cm x Width 27cm) Heavier crazing and light patina 1 x round platter (28.5 cm diameter height 3.5 cm) 1 x large round platter (31 cm diameter height 4 cm)
Except where noted above, all pieces are in excellent condition. You may see very light crazing, a few small areas of discoloration, light scratches and signs of use, and the occasional tiny 'flea bite' chip of less than 1mm diameter. All damage has been carefully noted and described above. This set remains in excellent condition and every piece is suitable for continued use. More photos are available on request.
