A gorgeous French antique soupiere / tureen in teal green transferware in a lovely floral design with stylised flowers, seeds and whiplash 'coup de fouet' motifs, made in France by Luneville in the 'Lucy' pattern c 1900.
The factory of Luneville, in production since the early 18th century, specialized in fine faience earthenware (ironstone) and were known for their excellent quality of transferware decoration.
This perfect French country design features floral sprays in a beautiful two-tone muted colorway of teal glaze on a white paste. The stunning vining floral designs would have been the height of fashion during the Parisian Belle Epoque when Art Nouveau was the dominant style in French salons.

CONDITION - In very good antique condition. No chips or cracks. No deep scrapes or scratches. As to be expected at an age of over 100 years, this piece has signs of age and use including some crazing, small areas of discoloration and very tiny areas of glaze loss/fleabite chips on the rim. Please see photos for condition and feel free to ask any questions. Still displays very well and in good usable condition.
