An exquisite French antique breakfast / entree plate in red and white transferware made in earthenware (ironstone) with a stunning naturalistic design of nesting birds feeding their fledglings, set amongst branches and blossom. Crafted by the renowned faiencerie of Jules Vieillard, Bordeaux France c1880-1900.
A rare and gorgeous Aesthetic movement design in romantic red and ivory palette.

The condition is excellent antique condition throughout. No chips, cracks or significant scratches, light signs of use and some minor crazing, spots and smears of the transferware pattern, as usual for the more hand-made processes of the time. In truly fabulous condition for age, and ready to be put to use!
