A scarce St Uze advertising pot promoting Rillettes d'Écommoy, produced in the distinctive salt-glazed stoneware for which the pottery became renowned. The applied side handle and crisp impressed lettering are characteristic of commercial advertising wares produced around the turn of the twentieth century.
St Uze stoneware from the Drôme region became highly regarded for its exceptionally durable domestic pottery, decorated with distinctive blue motifs and advertising inscriptions. Branded examples such as this are increasingly sought after by collectors of French advertising and regional ceramics.
