A beautiful French antique Limoges porcelain divided dish in a trefoil design and sweet floral decoration. Featuring scalloped edges with fluting around the rims, lovely hand painted floral sprays around the plates and finished with an impressive molded central handle in acanthus scroll form.
This piece dates from around c1891-1900. It is in very good condition with no damage. Gorgeous on display but also practical to use with a nice balance and good sized compartments, ideal as a dessert dish, for berries or small fruits, or appetizers.
From the renowned factory of Haviland of Limoges France. Featuring a lovely soft pastel palette of pink, green and blue polychrome florals of roses on a lovely white fluted rum with a fine gold border.
A beautiful design of non-repeating floral sprays are arranged across the interior of each of the three bowls in this dish. All the designs vary slightly and one even has a charming little blue-winged bee! The painting is lovely, very detailed and intricate artwork to explore and enjoy. Subtle gold borders for a fine edge finish.
Bearing a green stamped mark 'CFH' (for Charles Field Haviland) and 'GDA' (for Gerard, Dufraisseix & Abbot) with a mark in use between 1891-1900. In the period after Charles Field Haviland retired in 1881, the company continued using his name, and also became known as Gerard, Dufraisseix and Morel. The Factory still operates today as Porcelaine GDA-Royal Limoges
CONDITION -
In very good condition. No chips or cracks, some wear to the gold on the handle, light scratches. In wonderful condition for an age of 120+ years, with nothing to prevent display or continued use of this charming piece. See photos for condition and feel free to ask any questions.
