An elegant set of 8 dessert or entree plates in a French antique transferware pattern in classic blue and white. A lovely French aesthetic movement design of stylized birds and foliage in a classic teal blue and white colorway on a cream ground. Stamped Luneville maker, "Colibri" design, c1890.
CONDITION - This set is in excellent condition, you may see a gentle patina or slight imperfections due to age. Also, it is manufactured using more 'handmade' processes than today, and you may see areas of glaze smudging, glaze spots, bubbles under the glaze as is normal for transferware and part of the vintage charm of the items. With the exception of a few possible minor flaws (see pictures!) everything is in excellent condition and remarkably well preserved for its age of 150+ years - all pieces in the service remain usable and will display well for years to come.
