A very elegant and beautiful French antique 51 piece dinner service in a stunning design with place settings for up to 24 people (24 dinner, 24 soup plates), plus a generous set of matching serving dishes from Luneville France in the pattern 'Marie-Louise'. This service was made in French faience ('terre de fer') c1890-1920, remains in lovely antique condition, very usable and displays beautifully.
This magnificent service was produced by the highly respected maker Luneville, in the pattern 'Marie-Louise' with blooms and flower buds in exquisitely rendered detail, tones of blue transferware on a white ground.
CONDITION - Overall, this set remains in very good to excellent condition with a gentle patina of age. Light crazing, light scratches, a few very small areas of glaze loss, a few small areas of discoloration, etc. Also, it is manufactured using more 'handmade' processes than today, and you may see areas of glaze smudging, glaze spots, bubbles under the glaze as is normal for transferware and part of the vintage charm of the items. With the exception of a few minor flaws everything is in very good to excellent condition and remarkably well preserved for its age of 100+ years - the service remains fully usable and will display well for years to come.

Good condition- Very fine hairline on rim, no movement. Some light tea stain patina on the base. 1 Small Soupiere / tureen with lid (W 28cm including handles x H 18cm including lid (9cmH without lid) Diameter 21cm, excellent condition 3 x footed compotiers (23cm diameter x 11cm high) 1 sauce dish L24 cm W14cm H10cm in good condition with a light tea stain patina 1 Round shallow serving Bowl (27cm diameter x 5cm high) excellent condition
