There are a few small scratches to the bronze and a small chip on the edge of the marble base near the bird's tail but nothing to detract from the overall enjoyment of the piece - see photos for condition. The interior of the larger box is slightly corroded and might need to be used with a liner depending on the usage. The colour now presents as gently gold brass, with a patina of age and use. Please note that I have not polished this item at all, so it would be possible to remove the patina to bring it to a higher shine if desired. However, since I can't replace the patina again if I polish it, I would prefer to leave this to the choice of the eventual buyer. \u003cbr\u003e  \u003cbr\u003e Undated and unmarked, but given the style, method of fabrication and level of wear, this piece probably dates from around 1900-1910.
